About us

Celadon

Celadon is a Tbilisi-based company and the exclusive distributor of Chrysanthos ceramic glazes and colours in Georgia. We hold an exclusive distribution agreement with Chrysanthos and import directly from the manufacturer.

The name comes from one of the oldest glazes: celadon is the soft, greenish glaze every potter knows. For us it stands for two things — quality, and the knowledge that should come with every glaze.

Why know-how, not just products

Georgian studios need good materials, but even more they need information: how to brush on clear glaze, which cone to fire to, when a piece is food safe. That is why every product comes with instructions, and we answer technical questions together with the manufacturer's team.

Our story

Celadon was founded by an enthusiastic pottery hobbyist who finished his studies in Beijing and travelled the world in search of art.

Inspiration came from everywhere: Chinese ink painting in Beijing, and museums from the Louvre in Paris and the Prado in Madrid to the Kunsthaus in Zurich, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the art museums of Beijing. Over time it grew into a wish to give something to Georgia's own ceramic scene.

The idea was simple: to enrich Georgia's ceramic scene with colours that are affordable, diverse and full of life, so that local artists can express themselves fully. That search led to Chrysanthos, a company that began from exactly the same wish: to put quality colours within reach of every potter. The Chrysanthos story →

In Georgia we pursue that wish together: quality colours and glazes, with the right know-how and instructions in Georgian. That shared vision is the basis of our partnership.

Today Celadon serves studios, teachers and independent potters — in Tbilisi and across Georgia.

Celadon LLC is an independent, exclusive authorised distributor of Chrysanthos products in Georgia. Chrysanthos is a registered trademark of its manufacturer.
