The tiles are fired samples from Chrysanthos. The final colour depends on the clay, the number of coats and the firing — we suggest trying a test tile first. Firing range
Cone 06 (approx. 1000°C) – Cone 04 (approx. 1060°C)
The cone is the main measure of firing; °C is approximate and depends on the heating rate. What is a cone?
Food safety
Not food safe. Use on decorative pieces or only on the outside of functional ware.
How to use
Contains metal compounds. Shake or stir well before use; thin with clean water if needed. Brush 2–3 coats onto low-fire bisque, letting each coat dry completely; a sponge also works. The glaze changes colour with the thickness of the coat and gives an aged, antique effect — most visible on relief, detail and in recesses. Colours do not bleed into each other, but the colours of this series do not intermix.
Safety
Do not spray or sand dry glaze. Use in a well-ventilated area; avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash hands after use. Do not pour glaze or rinse water down the drain. If swallowed, rinse the mouth and see a doctor. Keep out of reach of children.
