Prices will be added as soon as the first shipment arrives in Tbilisi. Until then you can add items to your list and send it — we will let you know the price.
The tiles are fired samples from Chrysanthos. The final colour depends on the clay, the number of coats and the firing — we suggest trying a test tile first. Firing range
Cone 6 (approx. 1220°C) – Cone 10 (approx. 1300°C)
The cone is the main measure of firing; °C is approximate and depends on the heating rate. What is a cone?
Food safety
Food safe when the piece is fully covered, with no bare spots, and correctly fired. Prolonged contact with acidic or strongly alkaline food and drink is not recommended. Bronze Metal (SE009), Gun Metal (SE013), Olivine (SE119), Jasper (SE120), Mildew (SE126), Green Agate (SE133), Adamite (SE135), Drab Olive (SE136), Brownite (SE143), Storm (SE150) and Black Cryolite (SE156) are particularly sensitive to acidic and alkaline food and are not food safe.
How to use
Contains metal compounds. Shake or stir well before use; thin with clean water if needed. Brush 3–4 coats onto high-fire bisque and let each coat dry completely. Kiln shelves must be protected with kiln wash — this glaze runs. Layering: brush the first colour in 2 coats over the whole piece, the second colour in 2 coats on the top half only; the glaze will run and the two colours will blend. Coat thickness and firing temperature decide where the run stops. Colours bleed where they touch; colours of the series should not be mixed together, but layering is recommended. To experiment, mix stains and oxides into Neutral (SE101).
Safety
Do not spray or sand dry glaze — this can release silica dust. Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged skin contact. Wash hands after use. Do not pour glaze or rinse water down the drain. If swallowed, rinse the mouth; if you feel unwell, see a doctor. Keep out of reach of children. Some colours contain lead — those are for decorative, professional or studio use only; details are on the jar label.
