The tiles are fired samples from Chrysanthos. The final colour depends on the clay, the number of coats and the firing — we suggest trying a test tile first. Firing range
Cone 06 (approx. 1000°C) – Cone 04 (approx. 1060°C)
The cone is the main measure of firing; °C is approximate and depends on the heating rate. What is a cone?
Food safety
Food safe when the piece is fully covered and correctly fired — no clear glaze needed.
How to use
Shake or stir well before use to spread the speckles evenly; thin with clean water if needed. Brush 1–3 coats onto low-fire greenware or bisque, letting each coat dry completely. It fires to a glossy, speckled surface on its own. It is a glaze, so no clear glaze is needed. Works well with Café Color and Café Color G. Colours do not bleed; all colours are intermixable.
