Colours

Prices will be added as soon as the first shipment arrives in Tbilisi. Until then you can add items to your list and send it — we will let you know the price.

The tiles are fired samples from Chrysanthos. The final colour depends on the clay, the number of coats and the firing — we suggest trying a test tile first. Firing range

Cone 06 (approx. 1000°C) – Cone 04 (approx. 1060°C)

The cone is the main measure of firing; °C is approximate and depends on the heating rate. What is a cone?

Food safety

Not food safe. Bacteria collect in the cracks, so use it on decorative pieces or only on the outside of functional ware.

When is a piece food safe?

How to use

Contains metal compounds. Shake or stir well before use; thin with clean water if needed. Brush 2–3 coats onto low-fire bisque, alternating direction, and let each coat dry completely. The glaze ranges from transparent to semi-transparent. Cracks form after firing as the kiln cools — you can even watch them appear. A thick coat and fast cooling give large, sparse cracks; a thin coat and slow cooling a fine, dense web. To bring the cracks out, rub ink or a coloured liquid into the surface after cooling. Colours bleed where they touch; the colours of this series do not intermix, but layering works well.

Safety

Wash hands after use. Keep the container tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of reach of children.
