The tiles are fired samples from Chrysanthos. The final colour depends on the clay, the number of coats and the firing — we suggest trying a test tile first. Firing range
Cone 6 (approx. 1220°C) – Cone 8 (approx. 1260°C)
The cone is the main measure of firing; °C is approximate and depends on the heating rate. What is a cone?
How to use
Shake or stir well before use; thin with clean water if needed. Brush 3 even coats onto bisque, alternating direction, and let each coat dry completely; a sponge also works. Gives a rough, sandy, matt surface — unlike Volcano Glaze, the texture is fine-grained. Colours do not bleed; all colours are intermixable.
Safety
Do not spray or sand dry glaze — this can release silica dust. Wash hands after use. Keep out of reach of children.
