Colours
Prices will be added as soon as the first shipment arrives in Tbilisi. Until then you can add items to your list and send it — we will let you know the price.
The tiles are fired samples from Chrysanthos. The final colour depends on the clay, the number of coats and the firing — we suggest trying a test tile first. Firing range
Cone 4 (approx. 1190°C) – Cone 8 (approx. 1260°C)
The cone is the main measure of firing; °C is approximate and depends on the heating rate. What is a cone?
How to use
Contains metal compounds. Shake or stir well before use; thin with clean water if needed. With a well-loaded brush apply 3 thick coats onto mid-fire bisque, letting each coat dry completely. In the kiln the surface bubbles up into a rough texture like cooled lava; the surface shimmers — neither fully metallic nor satin. Look into a crater and you find another colour underneath. This glaze does not run onto the foot, so other glazes can be used freely beside it. Colours do not bleed; the colours of this series do not intermix, but they can be layered.
Safety
Do not spray or sand dry glaze — this can release silica or metal oxide dust. Use in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged skin contact. Wash hands after use. Do not pour glaze or rinse water down the drain. If swallowed, rinse the mouth; if you feel unwell, see a doctor. If in the eyes, rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. Store tightly closed in the original container, away from food and drink. Keep out of reach of children.
